11y strictly in-door kitty has had progressively growing soft, non-painful "bump" on side of her nose for the past 10yrs! Has had numerous needle aspiration biopsies in past, which have all come back--"inconclusive". NO behavior or appetite changes--still her neurotic cute lovey-dovey self. Just diagnosed, 3 days ago, with SPINDLE CELL SARCOMA, after tissue biopsy-done under gen. anesthesia. Xrays neg. for metastasis. Will schedule her for attempted removal this coming week. Has anyone had a similar experience? How did pet do? Etiology? Treatment options? Reoccurance once removed--if at all possible? Are feline cancers contagious? Best kitty buddy, was just sent to kitty heaven 3mths ago for squamous cell carcinoma of his upper palate. Can anyone offer any advice? |
