I have undergone 12 rounds of chemo for inflamatory breast cancer and a masectomy since 10/02. Still, it spread to my liver though at this point I am doing quite well despite the stage 4 diagnosis by traditional medicine. I am now trying the new prescription drug: arimidex, drinking easiac tea (that I purchased through your site), and through the advice of my acupuncturist: I am trying to switch to a macrobiotic diet and taking ginseng and astragulus as well as focusing on reducing stress in my life and working on my spiritual growth. My acupuncturist also recommended Red Clover Stilingia by Herb Pharm (a Hoxey formula) but I am concerned about it's association with increasing estrogen production. Arimidex is an aromatose inhibitor. It prevents the enzyme that causes androgen (a male hormone) to turn into estrogen thereby blocking its production. I am now afraid to take Red Clover because of my fear it will counteract the Arimidex. Is this true about Red Clover? Do you know of any other treatment options that are simular to the Hoxey formula and effective? What would you recommend as complementary therapy to my current regime? |
