Hi, I am new to this site and I have to say the information is amazing. I have been diagnosed with endometrial adenocarcinoma. I am 45 and 113 pounds, which is un common for a woman of my age and weight to get this kind of cancer. However, my mom had uterine cancer at age 61, so I guess I was pre-disposed to getting it.

I have been seeing a Naturpathic doctor here in Atlanta, who has been assisting me. I am on a organic diet and take supplements and drinks that are used to help my immune system fight the cancer. I have been doing so for 5 months. I want to at this point, see if my cancer has regressed or progressed. Do you know how hard it is to get another biopsy from the medical community for this reason? I have been getting the run around. I want to avoid a hysterectomy which was advised by my oncologist...I want to heal myself. Does anyone know of any tests done, to quantificate cancer? A test that shows how the cancer is doing? Whether it is growing or shrinking. A gynocologist said that she didnt want to waste my time doing another biopsy. She said the biopsy shows you have cancer and that is all you need to know...have the surgery dear she said..she said that the biopsy will not quantificate the cancer. Then how were they able to determine that my cancer was a grade 1 cancer?? hum.. Or how do doctors know if a cancer has gone, when they have done radiation or chemotherapy??? There are obviously tests out there, but it is not readily available to us because of the choices we have made to heal ourselves holistically.
If you have cancer folks, do your research, find a ND to guide you in the healing process..and dont let the medical community try to sway you, from doing what you know is your rights to have done....I juice everyday with organic vegetables..drink noni juice and green tea and protein shakes, and vitamins and supplements. Please do not ignore that, stress plays a large role in cancer. I also meditate, do self-hypnosis and yoga...I no longer have depression as I use to have..this is only one thing less to worry about..I will have to see about the cancer now. I would really need to stick to this diet for at least 6 months to see if there is a difference in my cancer...does anyone know how long it would take to see any changes?

I have been trying to close this bulletin board for several months, but I happened to check today. I have a rule, two of them actually. First, if you can, ask your gynecologist or oncologist what the maximum length of time is that he or she feels you could try an alternative program without putting yourself at greater risk. Contrary to what most people expect to hear, they are often told "two months". I do not believe anyone really has enough information to answer such a question, but if you do not hear that the condition is immediately life-threatening, you can give yourself a window for trying alternatives.

The second rule is that you need to be seeing improvement on the program you choose. You cannot , for instance, get worse but tell yourself that if you are diligent and compliant that you will actually be better in six months. If you are not significantly better in 90 days, it's likely that what you are doing is not working as well as is necessary for your safety and survival. However, in most cases, you will know sooner if your response is good.

In your case, you feel better, but you do not seem to know if you are better. Moreover, you are seeing the diet and life style changes as temporary. In other words, if you believe that you can revert to your former life style, you missed an important message about what got you to your present state, not just your mother's genes.

The problem is that the sorts of tests you are requesting usually have to be ordered by an MD, not a naturopath. So, you need to find an MD who is open to what you want to try, but you need to realize that you are on a learning curve and the MD knows this and may not feel this ride is safe.

Finally, I simply want to point out that nothing you mentioned seems directed at cancer. Everything is probably beneficial but there is nothing that is specifically antitumoral and you might be allocating your energy a little naively.

Best wishes.
