The treatment isn't new. Dr. Frederic Mohs kept meticulous records on thousands of cases. With basal cell carcinomas, he had a success rate of 99% but with some other conditions, the success was very much lower. In my opinion, every case is very different. It's completely unrealistic to compare a basal cell carcinoma with a melanoma and just as unfair to compare a small breast lump near the surface of the skin to a deeper tumor close to the chest wall. Likewise, it's hopeless to imagine that all products used for such purposes are comparable. They are not. If you are seeking these statistics for a research project, I would suggest contacting a Mohs microsurgery clinic attached to a university, like Harvard Medical School, Texas Tech, or University of Wisconsin (to name a few.) If this is for personal use to enhance confidence in a choice you might make, then I would suggest asking some people experienced in the use of such products how they view your particular situation. |
